As of 1:20 p.m., police had closed the streets around the mansion to pedestrian and car traffic due to a “suspicious device.”

Carl Schurz Park is also closed to visitors, the NYPD said.

The investigation comes a day after two men were charged with throwing two improvised explosive devices during a protest and counterprotest outside the mansion over the weekend.

No one was injured by those devices, which did not detonate. Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his wife, Rama Duwaji, were not home at the time of the incident.
