OGDENSBURG, New York (WWNY) – Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday that three North Country communities will receive a combined $19 million in state funding during a press conference at Ogdensburg International Airport.
The village of Heuvelton and the town of Moriah will each receive $4.5 million through the New York Forward Grant. The city of Ogdensburg will receive $10 million through New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
Ogdensburg has been working to identify ways to revamp its downtown and restore the city’s prominence among waterfront communities in St. Lawrence County.
Hochul said she wanted to send a strong message to rural communities in the North Country.
