But money companies owe individuals they can’t locate winds up getting handed over to the government.

Harris administrates New Jersey’s Office of Unclaimed Property, which broke a record reuniting Garden State residents with a whopping $840 million.
“We try to make it as easy as possible. So, if you go on our website and it’s free, doesn’t cost anything, we recommend that you check our website two, three times a year, because it’s updated all the time,” he said.
There are a lot of websites. Go to your states treasury or missing money .com and don’t pay because this is a free service.
You may get notified with minutes how much is waiting for you. Within 24 hours, Pineda’s check was on its way.
