A van driver was arrested early Wednesday after crashing his vehicle through a security barricade near the White House, authorities said.
Washington DC’s Metropolitan Police Department said they were called to assist the Secret Service at 6:37 a.m. ET after the van drove through the barricade at Connecticut Avenue and H Street Northwest.
No injuries were reported and the van driver was not immediately identified. It was not immediately clear what charges, if any, they would face.

The crash took place at the northwest corner of Lafayette Park, due north of the executive mansion. Streets approaching the area were blocked off by police and Secret Service vehicles shortly after 8 a.m.
Cops were unable to give details of the incident when questioned by a reporter.
The Secret Service did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.
President Trump was at the White House at the time of the incident. He was scheduled to travel to Ohio and Kentucky later Wednesday.
Security at sensitive sites around the country and at US outposts around the world has been stepped up amid the ongoing US-Israel war on Iran, which entered its 12th day Wednesday.
