VALLEY STREAM, NY. — A Queens man was arrested Tuesday after a vehicle he sold on Craigslist was found to have been stolen out of New York City last year, police said.
Nassau County police said 28-year-old Devon Ridgeway sold a 2021 Honda Accord on Craigslist to a 35-year-old man who took it to the DMV where it was revealed that the car’s title was fraudulent. Furthermore, police said the DMV trip revealed that the Accord had been stolen from New York City on Apr. 5, 2025.
After investigation, police said Ridgeway was identified as the seller of the car. He was arrested at the Department of Corrections Parole building in Jamaica, Queens, police said.
Police said Ridgeway is charged with third-degree grand larceny, second-degree forgery, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree unlawful possession of personal ID. His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, police said.
