The husband of a missing Queens woman, more than 40 years her senior, was arrested Wednesday for killing, dismembering, and then dumping her body in a park last year.

Rupchand Simboo, 75, of 135th Street in South Ozone Park, was charged at the 116th Precinct stationhouse on March 11 for allegedly murdering his wife, Salisha Ali, 34, and then dumping her dismembered torso inside a marshy area of Idlewild Park, not far from JFK Airport.

Ali’s head had been discovered on March 5 inside the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Police were later able to retrieve other body parts during an extensive search.

Detectives believe Simboo allegedly murdered Ali sometime before her torso was discovered by sanitation workers in Idlewild Park, near the corner of 149th Avenue and Brookville Boulevard, on Sept. 23, 2025.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, who spoke about the grisly find in the days following the discovery, said the workers came upon the remains after they smelled a foul odor while performing a roadside cleanup.

“It had several unique and identifiable tattoos which were visible and not decomposed,” Chief Kenny said. “We could still see and make out very clearly the tattoos that were on the body, which were three names and a flower.”

The Medical Examiner’s office conducted a further investigation, which determined how she had been dismembered. The exact cause of her death was not yet known.

“The doctor further states that he believes that straight edge instruments, such as a knife was used to cut through the soft tissue, and some sort of saw was used to cut through the bone,” Chief Kenny added.

Sources with knowledge of the investigation report that Simboo and Ali met in 2023 when Ali was still living in Trinidad. Despite their 40-year age gap, they maintained a long-distance relationship until she moved in with Simboo at his South Ozone Park home, and they married that year.

Ali was last seen alive via a video call on July 13, 2025. Simboo and another family member filed a missing person’s report that same day.

Simboo is charged with murder, obstructing governmental administration, and two counts of tampering with physical evidence. Police sources said he has one prior arrest on record, in October 2025, for a dispute at a restaurant.
