The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced special hours for six Saturdays at select Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) across the country, including in the tri-state area. This is part of the agency’s effort to improve service during tax season.
Also, the agency is extending weekly office hours at more than 200 Taxpayer Assistance Centers nationwide to provide taxpayers with additional time to receive in-person assistance during the filing season. Extended weekday hours will be available through Thursday, April 30.
Here what you need to know:
How do I find out which offices in our area have extended hours during the week?
Taxpayers can check whether a nearby TAC is offering extended hours by visiting IRS.gov to use the TAC Locator tool: Contact your local office. The tool provides office locations, directions, available services, and information about extended hours.
