City comptroller looks at NYC’s financial future

City Comptroller Mark Levine expressed concerns over New York City’s finances at the City Council’s first day of budget hearings.

Moody’s Rating, a debt-rating agency, said late Wednesday that it may soon downgrade the city’s credit rating, citing concerns about a projected budget gap.

The mayor says the move is premature, noting that the state budget that is due next month may help the city financially.

Levine joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to talk about the fiscal future of the city.
