HARLEM, Ga. (WJBF) – The Harlem High School Marching Band is headed to The Big Apple!

The Bulldogs will be able to show off their skills at the world’s oldest and largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City. They will march down 5th Avenue along with the NYPD pipe bands and other notable school bands. This is the 265th annual celebration.

“About a year ago, we submitted video footage of our competitions and other parades that we were in with recordings,” said Curtiz Carver, the band director Harlem High School. “We had to send that in and the crew in New York, they listen to all the entries and they select the group. This is a group of students that no matter, whether they’ve been told they can or can’t, they come together to do their best.”

The Bulldogs were voted the “Best Band in the CSRA” in a 2025 Augusta Chronicle poll.
