The New York Giants cleared $15.1 million in salary cap space this week by converting $22.75M of Pro Bowl defensive end Brian Burns’ salary into a signing bonus.
Spotrac notes that “Burns will earn a base salary of $1,300,000, a restructure bonus of $22,750,000 and a workout bonus of $500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $21,383,333 and a dead cap value of $57,050,002.”
Burns signed a five-year, $141 million deal with Big Blue after being acquired in a trade with the Carolina Panthers two years ago.
Last May, the Giants converted $16 million of Burns’ 2025 salary into a signing bonus, clearing $12 million in cap space.
Spotrac is also reflecting that the Giants have approximately $29 million in Top 51 cap space, but all contracts inked in the past 24 hours have not been factored in as of yet.
