WILLIAMSBURG — A COORDINATED string of eight grand larcenies has struck high-end apparel retailers across Manhattan and Brooklyn in recent weeks, with Williamsburg locations bearing the brunt of the activity, according to the NYPD and New York Times.

North Sixth Street Lululemon was robbed twice, most recently on March 3, when three individuals absconded with $21,000 in merchandise shortly before 4 p.m. Four blocks away, the Bedford Avenue Alo store was hit once, with three thieves taking $1,334 in goods; police released surveillance images of suspects Wednesday and sought the public’s assistance. No arrests have been made and no injuries were reported. Police have increased patrol presence at affected locations.

Read Hayes, a criminologist at the University of Florida, told the Times that luxury athleisure has become a coveted target for retail theft nationally compared to 2025.

This string of thefts follows at least 10 small-business break-ins and burglaries in Williamsburg and Greenpoint since Dec. 10. NYPD believes they are linked to a single suspect.
