More than 2,400 Uber driver-partners call the Bronx home and are responsible for completing over 3 million trips on the platform in the past 4 years.
Since Uber’s launch in New York City in 2011, partners have grossed over $70 million dollars in Uber fares, with the freedom and flexibility to create their own schedules and provide for their families.
To kick off Bronx Week, we celebrated some of our long-term driver-partners and their communities with a Partner Appreciation Event at Willis Avenue Community Garden.
In addition to the several hundred partners in attendance, we were fortunate to be joined by City Council Member Annabel Palma, who expressed her support for Uber and its 2,400+ Bronx driver-partners.
“We need choices—and Uber is a great choice for my community.” – Council Member Annabel Palma
Thanks for a great day!
SEE WHO’S DRIVING THE BRONX
“I’m a people person. I moved to the Bronx from Senegal 6 years ago. With Uber, it gives me more time to do the things I like, and I really like talking to riders and meeting new people every day. I love that Uber riders really appreciate what I do.”
– Bassirou, Uber partner since 2014
“I was driving with Uber part-time while working in a butcher shop, but switched to full-time since I love it so much. To me, it’s the perfect job. It gives me the flexibility to make my own hours and also have the time to spend with my 4 kids.”
– Gilberto, Uber partner since 2013
We’ll be celebrating Bronx Week through May 17. Stay tuned for updates on our blog.
