SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (WNYT)- Children in the Capital Region have the chance to audition for roles in New York City Ballet’s Saratoga season production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Auditions will be held by Dena Abergel, New York City Ballet Children’s Repertory Director, on Sunday, March 15 at 10 a.m. at the SPAC School of the Arts in Saratoga Springs, NY. The production will run from July 8 to 11.
This performance celebrates SPAC’s 60th anniversary and its partnership with New York City Ballet. A Midsummer Night’s Dream was the first performance at SPAC in July 1966.
Audition details
The ballet, inspired by Mendelssohn’s music, features 24 children’s roles. It captures the comedy and romance of Shakespeare’s play, including characters like Puck and the Rude Mechanicals.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a beloved part of New York City Ballet’s repertoire and was the first full-length ballet Balanchine created in America.
