Saturday will be blustery and cold with lingering snow showers through the middle of the day, then tapering. Highs will be in the 20s and 30s, with wind chills in the teens and 20s.
Sunday will be breezy with a few snow or rain showers possible. Highs will be in the 40s. Mild temperatures return Monday, before another shot of colder weather settles back in for Tuesday and Wednesday.

1. Syracuse St. Patrick’s Parade will result in some road closures Saturday
The 2026 Syracuse St. Patrick’s Parade will take place on Saturday, March 14 and result in several street closures downtown.
2. Bridge demolition in I-81 project to start Monday
More bridges tied to the massive I-81 viaduct project are coming down soon. Beginning Monday, Court Street will shut down over Interstate 81 for months as crews demolish and rebuild the bridge. The redesigned Business Loop 81 will expand to four lanes, and that requires a longer bridge to cover all lanes. It will also need repositioned supports.
Three New York Republican state senators urged Gov. Kathy Hochul to reconvene the Climate Action Council to take up review of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) as the governor has expressed interest in amending it.
4. Weekend fundraisers to benefit firefighters injured in church explosion
There are two fundraisers this weekend for the Boonville firefighters who were injured in last month’s explosion at Abundant Life Church.
5. Funding secured for Onondaga Co. mobile command center
New federal funding is on the way to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office to buy and equip a new mobile command center. Rep. John Mannion (D – NY22) said Community Project Funding totaling a little more than $1 million will go toward the center, which a release from Mannion’s office called “a critical public safety investment identified as a local priority.”
6. Blast rocks Tehran after Israel threatened to target area where pro-government rally was being held
A large explosion rocked an area of Iran’s capital where thousands were gathered Friday for the annual state-organized Quds Day to support the Palestinians and call for Israel’s demise. Israel had earlier warned that it would target the area in central Tehran.
