EMS rushed him to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition; however, his condition deteriorated further, and hospital staff pronounced him dead a short time later.
Police did not provide details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Numerous bullet casings were recovered at the scene, police sources said Saturday, and detectives were canvassing nearby video cameras for further evidence.
So far, no arrests have been made in the case. Police sources did not yet have an official description of the suspected shooter.
