ALLERTON, Bronx — One person was hurt as a fire burned a second-floor apartment overnight in the Allerton section of the Bronx.
79 fire and EMS workers responded to a call from 2536 Matthews Ave just after midnight on Saturday.
Citizen App video showed heavy smoke plumes rising from the windows and roof of the building.
Firefighters had the blaze under control within an hour.
One resident suffered minor injuries but is expected to recover.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
