The New York Giants are expected to sign former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Mooney spent the last two seasons in Atlanta, recording 96 catches for 1,435 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 31 games.
The Falcons signed Mooney to a three-year, $39 million contract in 2024. During his first season with the Falcons, he recorded 64 catches for 992 receiving yards and five touchdowns over 16 games. In 2025, the former Bears wide receiver suffered a shoulder injury in training camp and never seemed to be 100 percent healthy.
Mooney finished the year with just 32 catches for 443 yards and one touchdown over 15 games. Atlanta released the 28-year-old after the season ended. Mooney’s new contract terms have yet to be revealed.
“Free agent wide receiver Darnell Mooney plans to sign with the Giants, per source,” Fowler reported on Saturday. “More speed on the way for Jaxson Dart.”
