SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Zephyr (6-7-7) opened its spring half of the schedule with a bang, crushing Brooklyn FC (4-7-8), 3-0.
Reese Tappan and Tori Waldeck both scored within five minutes late in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. Ginger Fontenot finally broke through after several great chances, and she added the final insurance goal at the 61st minute.
Spokane earned its largest shutout of the season, and it’s only the second time all season the Zephyr scored three goals.
Spokane takes a week off before hosting DC Power FC next Saturday at 6:00 p.m. back at ONE Spokane Stadium.
