Sir David and Lady Beckham marked their son’s birthday on Instagram, two months after the 27-year-old revealed a family rift.
In a statement issued in January, Brooklyn Beckham leveled multiple allegations against his parents, including claims they had attempted to “ruin” his relationship with his wife Nicola. His parents have remained silent on the rift, though both shared photographs and birthday messages for their son.
Victoria, 51, may be confronting another challenge as Brooklyn has not publicly acknowledged his parents’ birthday wishes, which suggests “something deeper is happening” according to Olivia Bennett, Digital PR Director at Go Up, reports the Express.

Speaking exclusively to the Express, the crisis management specialist elaborated, “Silence can be a strategy, but it’s rarely neutral,” she explained. “When one side speaks, and the other doesn’t, the absence of response becomes part of the story. Audiences begin interpreting that silence — sometimes as restraint, sometimes as confirmation that something deeper is happening.
“That’s the real dilemma,” Olivia said. “Responding risks escalating the story and turning a private family issue into a public dispute. But silence can allow speculation to grow unchecked. For families with a brand as visible as the Beckhams, even small signals can move headlines.”

She further stated, “The safest approach is usually to avoid confrontation whilst continuing normal public activity. It reassures audiences that life and relationships are continuing, without feeding the conflict.”
The Beckhams have found themselves entangled in a dispute with their eldest son and his wife since their 2022 wedding, with tensions escalating significantly this year.
In a shocking six-page statement, Brooklyn lambasted his parents, asserting, “The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” before alleging, “Family love is decided by how much you post on social media.”
Olivia commented, “In many ways, social media is vital for celebrity careers, but it has also become a stage for public diplomacy within families. A birthday message, a tagged photo or even an absence of engagement can signal reconciliation, loyalty or division. Personal relationships are now analysed by audiences almost like political messaging.”

Recent reports suggest that Victoria’s decision to publicly acknowledge her estranged son on his milestone birthday may have exacerbated the ongoing family tensions.
However, according to a reputation expert, a family reunion might be in the cards.
“Ultimately, we can’t forget that this is a family, and it’s natural that Victoria would want to wish her son a happy birthday,” Olivia stated. “But the fact that the message is shared publicly does send a wider signal. It suggests that she [and by extension David] are keeping the door open and signaling goodwill.
