A rumored rift between Brooklyn and members of his famous family is believed to have begun in April 2022, when the rising chef married Nicola.
Brooklyn spoke out about his estrangement from his parents in a bombshell-filled message on his Instagram Stories in January, claiming that his parents have been “trying endlessly to ruin” his marriage to Nicola. He also stated he does not want to “reconcile” with his family.
Other allegations leveled by Brooklyn, he wrote in his social media post at the time, included that his parents tried to “bribe” him into “signing away the rights” to his name before his and Nicola’s wedding, and that mom Victoria “hijacked” his wedding dance with his wife and “danced inappropriately on me.”
When Brooklyn celebrated his 27th birthday on March 4, Nicola shared a tribute in his honor, calling him “the most special human.”
His parents also did the same, with David, 50, posting two throwback photographs on his Instagram Stories of himself with Brooklyn. “We love you,” the retired soccer player wrote with one post, tagging Victoria.
The former Spice Girls member, 51, also shared two birthday messages for Brooklyn on her own Instagram Stories. “Happy birthday Brooklyn, we love you so much,” the mom of four captioned one post.

Victoria and David have kept quiet about their family situation since Brooklyn leveled his accusations earlier this year.
After Brooklyn posted the messages, a source close to the situation told PEOPLE that he and Nicola “never wanted any of this.”
“They just wanted to quietly live their lives and be married, but after reading enough of the relentless inaccuracies about Nicola, a family member had had enough and wanted to set the record straight last year,” the insider said.
“And then the Beckhams had plenty of time to make amends and try and fix the damage, and instead they continued to push these false narratives, and Brooklyn and Nicola are just sick of it. Brooklyn knows his truth and was ready to speak it,” the source claimed.
However, a source with knowledge of the situation also told PEOPLE in January, “David and Victoria have repeatedly asked Brooklyn and Nicola to meet and talk in order to move forward … David loves his kids. They are his everything.”
A source close to Brooklyn previously disputed that David and Victoria had kept trying to reach out.
