Queen Mary has made a glamorous appearance out in her native Australia as part of her six-day state visit with husband, King Frederik X. The Danish royal couple paid a visit to the country’s capital, Canberra, on 15 March – and Mary had the most extravagant accessory for the special occasion.Â
Mary looked effortlessly chic in a white midi dress which fell to below her knees and featured a colourful floral print and ruffle details on the front with sheer long sleeves. While the royal opted for subtle accessories with nude heels, a blue clutch and teardrop earrings, her headpiece commanded attention. Mary wore her brunette locks out and straight for the day with a statement headpiece on top, which featured floral arrangements.Â

The royals are travelling to several Australian states from 14 to 19 March, including Mary’s hometown of Hobart, in what marks their first trip Down Under since ascending to the throne in January 2024. On Sunday, Mary and Frederik stopped by Government House where they met with the Governor-General of Australia, Sam Mostyn, and her husband, Simeon Beckett.
The Danish Royal House shared photos from Mary and Frederik’s day out on Sunday to the official Instagram account. “In Australia’s capital Canberra, Their Majesties the King and Queen were officially welcomed on a state visit on Sunday,” the post read.Â

“The official reception took place at Government House, which is located in the large Yarralumla park on Lake Burley Griffin.” The post continued: “On arrival at Government House, the Royal Couple were also welcomed with a traditional smoke ceremony.”
Change of outfit
During the royal couple’s Canberra stop, Mary unveiled a second outfit, which appears to be from a popular Australian designer. Mary and Frederik were greeted with a traditional smoke ceremony at Government House, for which the Queen wore a gorgeous green dress with a V neckline and voluminous sleeves.Â
The dress appears to be the ‘Everley Plunge Floral Linen Midi Dress’ by Sydney-based designer, Zimmermann. Mary paired the stylish floral look with gold jewellery. The Danish royal has worn the Australian label, which is also a favourite of Zara Tindall’s among other royals, on several occasions in the past. She wore a pencil skirt by the designer to the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza in November.Â
