The Knicks return home to Madison Square Garden following a five-game road trip and will play an extremely short-handed Golden State Warriors team on Sunday night.
New York handled business in Indiana on Friday, outlasting the Pacers 101-92 behind 29 points from Jalen Brunson and Mitchell Robinson’s monstrous career-high 22 rebound performance.Â
In a league driven by star players and depth, nothing is given, but this one couldn’t be gift-wrapped any better for the Knicks.
Things have been tough for Steve Kerr and Golden State of late, as the Warriors have gone 3-7 in their last ten games and are losers of four straight overall.
Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler headline the Warriors’ latest injury report as the team is dealing with a myriad of injuries. Â
Along with the Warriors’ featured trio all on the shelf, Al Horford, former Knick Kristaps Porzingis, and De’Anthony Melton will also be sidelined.Â
In the team’s most recent home loss to the Timberwolves on Friday, Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves raced out to a 69-48 halftime lead.Â
The Warriors enter Sunday’s contest with a -0.7 average first-half margin that’s dropped to -10.3 in their last three losses.
I see this trend continuing as the Knicks average 59 first-half points per game, tied for the 8th-best in the NBA.Â

With no Green to anchor Golden State’s defense, expect Brunson and other Knicks players to exploit it.Â
OG Anunoby’s outside shooting has flourished in March, as he’s shooting 44.2% from 3-point range.
Mikal Bridges and Landy Shamet seem to bring it up a notch at home, especially in these Sunday primetime matchups.
In addition, Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart could also return to the Knicks lineup after missing the Pacers game. I’m targeting the Knicks to cover the first-half spread with ease.
All signs point to a potential New York blowout as the Warriors’ playoff momentum dwindles by the day.
