SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (WRGB) — Local children had a chance to step into the spotlight Sunday morning as the New York City Ballet held auditions to fill roles in its summer production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
The auditions offered an inside look at how young performers are selected for a major ballet production and highlighted what opportunities like this can mean for the region’s artistic community.
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” has deep ties to SPAC’s history. It was the first performance presented on the SPAC stage at the venue’s grand opening in July 1966.
The production is scheduled to run at SPAC this summer from July 8 through July 11.
