For far too long, brooches were quite unloved. Aside from the occasional substitute teachers and perhaps a great-aunt, I’m actually not sure I saw anyone other than a Royal wearing a brooch for decades. But over the last little while, there’s been a rediscovery of this highly underrated accessory—from Michael B. Jordan at the BAFTAs to Bad Bunny and Lewis Hamilton at the Met Gala, brooches have found their way onto the lapels of countless male celebrities on recent red carpets, and this winter has seen brooches reemerge on the wool coats and chunky knitwear of cool kids the world over.Â
Personally, I freaking love a brooch. I love them to jazz up the lapel of an otherwise boringly tasteful blazer. I love how they feel like you got a little award for being brave enough to do something a bit unexpected with your outfit. I love hunting for them in vintage stores in Paris or late at night on Etsy—and now, with the brooch trend in full swing, I love browsing more modern styles everywhere from Net-a-Porter to Nordstrom to H&M.Â

If you’re a minimalist with a wardrobe full of classic staples, don’t let yourself be tricked into thinking this isn’t a trend for you—honestly, an ever-so-slightly unexpected brooch might be just the chic little injection of personality to breathe new life into some of your go-to looks. This season is delivering brooches that feel clean and sculptural, like little pieces of art.Â
Editors and stylists (and other such fashion people who gravitate towards rich-looking, polished accessories) are pinning them on scarves, totes, trenches, hats—and the fashion month street style galleries are here to remind us that no-one ever said you have to stop at one. My little fingers found so many good options out there on the internet, but these nine brooches are my personal favorites to shop for 2026.

This proves how outfit-changing a small-but-might accessory can be. This one, especially, adds an artful touch to a simple black blazer or cashmere scarf.

If you don’t want to spend a lot on a brooch, this one from H&M is a great option. It’s available in silver and gold with a cool, intertwined design that doesn’t feel too loud but just loud enough.
