Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz put on united front at Oscars party – after his public declaration for mother-in-law

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz stepped out for a star-studded date night on Sunday, as they attended his godfather Sir Elton John‘s annual Oscars viewing party. 

It comes amid Brooklyn’s estrangement from his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, and just hours after he appeared to snub his mum on Mother’s Day on Sunday.

While Brooklyn paid tribute to his mother-in-law, Claudia Heffner Peltz, with a sweet message on social media, he did not publicly acknowledge his own mother, Victoria. 

Brooklyn and Nicola looked super loved up at Sunday’s star-studded event, which raises funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation each year. While Nicola wore a fitted black gown, Brooklyn opted for a classic black suit and crisp white shirt.

Brooklyn’s Mother’s Day post

Brooklyn and Nicola’s date night follows the 27-year-old’s gushing message about his mother-in-law, Claudia, in celebration of Mother’s Day in the UK on Sunday. 

“Happy birthday to the best mother in law x,” Brooklyn captioned a photo of him, Nicola and Claudia.

“Love u so much and hope u had the most amazing day,” he added. 

Brooklyn’s bombshell statement

On 20 January, Brooklyn made several bombshell claims about his parents in a post on social media, in which he said he did not want to “reconcile” with his family. 

“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” wrote the former photographer.

“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” he penned.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” wrote Brooklyn, before going on to claim that his parents have been “trying endlessly to ruin” his relationship with Nicola and that his mother Victoria backed out of making his wife’s wedding dress for their 2022 nuptials at “the eleventh hour”.

He also alleged that his mother “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone” at his wedding. “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he claimed.

Brooklyn went on to claim his family had “consistently disrespected” his wife and alleged that his mother had “repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.”

David and Victoria’s olive branch

Both David and Victoria appeared to extend an olive branch on Brooklyn’s birthday on 4 March by sharing social media posts marking their eldest son’s big day.

David, 50, shared two throwback photos: one showed David and Victoria holding baby Brooklyn in a pool on holiday, while the second was a black-and-white photo of the father-of-four with young Brooklyn.

Victoria shared the same poolside snap of Brooklyn and wrote: “Happy 27th birthday Brooklyn. I love you so much.”
