NASSAU COUNTY (WABC) — A fatal multi-car crash on the Southern State Parkway left two people dead at the scene, and as many as six others injured on Sunday night.
A driver traveling westbound lost control, that vehicle flying into the eastbound lanes at around 10:15 p.m.
Six vehicles were involved in the fatal impact, investigators say.
The damage to those cars is eye-opening, with multiple seen on video as a mangled mess, with metal parts squashed and windows shattered.
Investigators on scene are trying to determine exactly how that crash happened and how fast the driver was traveling before losing control.
Right now, no victim identities have been released.
