The New York Giants select Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles with the No. 5 overall pick in Pro Football Focus’ latest 2026 NFL mock draft.

Styles has increasingly been projected as a top-five pick following his standout performance at the 2026 NFL Combine, after earlier forecasts had him outside that range. The 21-year-old impressed with his athleticism, running the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds and recording a 43.5-inch vertical jump.

PFF’s Gordon McGuinness has the Giants selecting Styles at No. 5 when they make their first pick in the draft.

The Giants’ free-agency signing of linebacker Tremaine Edmunds doesn’t dampen their chances of targeting Styles, in my opinion. He missed just 2.2% of his tackle attempts and earned 85.0-plus PFF grades in coverage and run defense this past season, ranking second among nearly 200 qualifying draft-eligible linebackers.

The Giants’ linebacker room has undergone significant changes this offseason. New York released inside linebacker Bobby Okereke before free agency began. Out went Okereke; in came Edmunds. Styles would complete the Giants’ inside linebacker unit for the 2026 NFL season.
