Nominations are now open for the 2026 Albany Tulip Queen, with the deadline set for Friday, April 17. The annual event, part of the Albany Tulip Festival, seeks candidates aged 18 to 24 who demonstrate community outreach goals, team building, and leadership skills.

The Tulip Queen will serve as Albany’s Ambassador for one year, engaging in volunteer projects like the Literacy Campaign, which promotes reading to children. She will work with the United Way to establish a trust fund for future Tulip Queens and Courts to award grants to local literacy organizations. The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship, while each member of the court will receive $1,500.

Candidates will undergo a series of interviews, with finalists announced in early May. The Queen will be crowned during a coronation ceremony at the Tulip Festival in May.
