40-vehicle pileup shuts down I-81 near Pulaski

TOWN OF RICHLAND, New York (WWNY) – State police say a 40-vehicle crash has shut down part of Interstate 81 in Oswego County.

The pileup happened Tuesday afternoon in the southbound lane between Exit 126 (Pulaski) and Exit 131 (Tinker Tavern).

Interstate 81 southbound at the Pulaski exit is currently closed so emergency vehicles can respond to the scene.

Police say the crash involves 40 vehicles, including multiple tractor trailers.

Troopers say motorists should expect significant delays and urge them to avoid the area if possible.
