1. Prison staff intercepted package of weapons, contraband delivered by drone, DOCCS says

New York State Police continue to investigate a recent incident in which a drone dropped a package filled with knives and other contraband inside a secured area of the Marcy Correctional Facility, the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision revealed Wednesday.

2. Amid latest aquarium update, concerns raised over donors

County legislators met Tuesday for an update on the aquarium, which has been under construction for more than a year. Barring unforeseen problems, the full cost will be $103 million. However, that didn’t come without a surplus of concerns — many of which revolved around the donors, all of those remaining anonymous.

3. Binghamton University: Many laid-off Sodexo workers to be rehired by new food vendor

University officials say that the Sodexo workers are effectively laid off every May when the campus dining halls shut down and then are rehired in August.

Israel kept up its campaign of targeting Iran’s leaders on Wednesday, killing the country’s intelligence minister, and an Iranian offshore natural gas field was struck in a sign of the war’s mounting pressure – from both sides – on the region’s economic lifeblood: energy.
