NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – The Trump administration continues to retaliate against New York City for its immigration enforcement policies, City Council Member Alexa Avilés said.

Just this week, a Bronx high school student was released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention as a City Council employee was issued an order of removal.

“[It’s] an incredible waste of taxpayer dollars. This is a high school student, another college student, a worker, a data analyst,” Avilés said. “Just think about the thousands of people that are getting put through this system to make a private prison company a lot of money.”
