HARLEM, Manhattan (WABC) — Several people were injured, including two critically, in a crash involving pedestrians in Harlem on Thursday.

Police responded to a crash that happened around 8 p.m. at West 125th Street and Frederick Douglas Boulevard near the famed Apollo Theater.

Officers found two pedestrians that were struck by a red Hyundai Tucson operated by a 49-year-old man. Both pedestrians were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The Tucson also struck an unoccupied NYPD vehicle and a tractor trailer.

FDNY officials say a total of five people were injured, including the two pedestrians. All of the victims have been taken to nearby hospitals.

Police say a person of interest has been taken into custody.
