Seen & Heard: ThisBowl getting ready

THISBOWL SOON TO BARCLAY AND WEST?
ThisBowl, the Australian version of Sweetgreen — and it also was founded by college students — that arrived in the States in 2024, has taken a space at 100 Barclay on the corner of West and Barclay. I assumed they were going into the Starbucks space on the south corner but L. caught sight of the fish logo in the window. They did not confirm details when I emailed — only said to watch social media for an opening date.

WARRIE PRICE HONORED BY LANDMARKS CONSERVANCY
Warrie Price, the founder of The Battery Conservancy, will receive the Preservation Leadership Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy on April 16 at The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine. Price founded The Battery Conservancy in 1994 and served as its president for 31 years, retiring in 2025. In that time, she transformed the city’s oldest public park from a derelict site into a beloved urban landscape.

RICHARD MARQUIS AT R & COMPANY
R & Company is hosting a glass show called Murrine–Murano–Marquis through March 27 at its space at 82 Franklin featuring Richard Marquis. The exhibition places Marquis’s murrine objects in dialogue with masterworks from turn-of-the-century and modern Venetian workshops, including Venini, Fratelli Toso, and Salviati, and situates their dedication to murrine within a broader historical context.

BALLOON MUSEUM COMMISSIONS MARINA ABRAMOVIĆ
Balloon Museum, inflatable art installation that has taken the lease at the Tin Building, has commissioned performance artist Marina Abramović to inaugurate its New York City location as part of a group exhibition coming in July. The project marks the acclaimed artist’s first foray into inflatable materials. Titled SNOWY / WINDY / SPRING ON THE PLANET Z, the work will create a multisensory dreamscape utilizing light, air, paper and inflatables.
