BROOKLYN, NY — Police are searching for three women suspected of stealing more than $41,500 in jewelry across Manhattan and Brooklyn on March 9.
Investigators said the group first hit a Catbird store on Centre Street in SoHo around 2 p.m., taking about $31,000 worth of jewelry.
Hours later, they targeted Williamsburg stores: Gorjana on North 7th Street around 6:10 p.m., seizing roughly $7,000, and another Catbird location on North 6th Street, taking an additional $3,500.
Surveillance footage shows the women entering the stores together, two distracting employees with questions while the third removed jewelry from display cases.
A jewelry store owner near one of the Williamsburg incidents told News 12 she recognizes two of the suspects.
She said the women returned the following day with a man, attempting a similar grab, but left empty-handed thanks to vigilant staff.
