The house is a key rite of passage for architects, critical to the ferment and crystallisation of new ideas, offering the potential for innovation. The awards recognise projects built in the last five years that demonstrate creativity, originality and ideas that push the house forward – whatever the scale or construction cost. The judges’ chosen projects will all be visited by an independent critic and photographer before a decision is made on the winner.”
