Jets head coach Aaron Glenn had kept his decision on who will start at quarterback close to the vest ahead of Week 8, but an injury will force his hand.
Justin Fields will get the start in Sunday’s road game against the Cincinnati Bengals with Tyrod Taylor (knee) being ruled out, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Saturday.
The Jets have since announced the news.
Taylor took over for Fields midway through last Sunday’s loss to the Panthers, bringing forth questions to Glenn this week about who he will go forward with at quarterback.
Glenn was tight-lipped about his decision despite Taylor being limited all week in practice with a knee injury. The veteran was initially listed as questionable to play before Saturday’s downgrade.
