Hopkins’ arrest and indictment follow those of Zackell Grove and Wesley Speaks Jr., who were 16 and 26 at the time of their arrests just hours after the homicide.
Initial WSFA coverage of the homicide shows Montgomery police responded to the 3000 block of Simmons Drive on Jan. 30, 2023, where they found the victim’s body in a vehicle.
Speaks’ documents indicated he was the person investigators believe shot Stewart. Grove’s mug shot and court filings were not available because of his age.
The indictment against Hopkins does not go into any detail about her specific role in the homicide, other than to indicate the grand jury believed she intentionally caused the victim’s death, either by shooting or some other unlawful activity.
Both Speaks and Hopkins are being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bond. Grove’s current status is unknown.
