The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying this person who they say is wanted in connection with an assault on an elderly person that occurred in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who they say is wanted in connection with an assault on a person that occurred in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx.
Police said that on Saturday, Feb. 28, at around 5 p.m., a 35-year-old male victim was aboard a southbound Bx41 MTA bus approaching East Tremont Avenue and Webster Avenue. They said an unidentified person got into a verbal dispute with the victim, displayed a sharp object and struck the victim causing injuries to his hands. “The individual exited the bus and fled the location on foot to parts unknown,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.”
Police said the suspect is described as male, is 5 feet, 5 inches, and is estimated to be between 20 and 30 years of age, and was last seen wearing a black jacket and a dark-gray sweater.
