As the NFL offseason progresses, teams have begun shifting their focus toward the 2026 NFL Draft. Free agency has already brought fresh faces into new environments.
Meanwhile, the NFL continues to evaluate ownership situations across its 32 franchises. League owners are expected to vote on a proposed share transfer involving the New York Giants.
As part of that process, the league will conduct a standard valuation of the transaction. The Tisch family plans to transfer its shares to the next generation.

Reports value the New York Giants at a staggering $10.8 billion. The Tisch family currently controls roughly $2.5 billion of that total.

How does this impact the NFL, Tisch family?
That figure highlights not only the significant responsibility awaiting the Tisch children, but also the surging value of NFL franchises. Despite the Giants’ recent struggles on the field, the team’s financial worth continues to climb.
For perspective, division rival Washington Commanders sold for $6.05 billion in 2023. The Giants’ current valuation approaches nearly double that figure.

Even the league’s least valuable franchise, the Cincinnati Bengals, carries a valuation of $5.25 billion, according to Sportico. In other words, every NFL franchise is now worth at least $5 billion.

The Giants’ updated valuation follows the Tisch family’s request to transfer shares to their children. That move comes after reports linked current shareholder Steve Tisch to the Epstein files.
The NFL has not indicated that it will take action against Tisch regarding the alleged connection. However, the family appears to be preparing for anything.
Regardless of the motivation behind the appraisal, one point stands out: the NFL remains the most valuable brand in American sports.
