One person died after a fire ravaged a Harlem apartment building on Sunday, according to the FDNY.
The blaze erupted on the fifth floor of the six story apartment building on W. 140th St. near Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. around 4:30 p.m., an FDNY spokesperson said.
A total of 79 firefighters and Emergency Medical Services personnel from 21 units were deployed to battle the blaze, which was brought under control just before 6 p.m., the spokesperson said.
The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
