Two people were killed and dozens injured after a collision on a LaGuardia Airport runway in New York City last night. It comes as the nation’s airports have been convulsed by the Department of Homeland Security shutdown.

LaGuardia crash: An Air Canada plane collided with a firetruck, killing the pilot and co-pilot. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash, which appears to have been an accident unrelated to the shutdown. [CBS News]

ICE to airports: Starting today, ICE will deploy agents to airports to support TSA workers, White House border czar Tom Homan said. Hundreds of TSA members have quit after weeks without pay, resulting in hours-long security lines. Here’s what they’ll be doing. [CNN]
