A chef from Romulus will compete in a national qualifying culinary event next month.

Hayleigh Clark of Field & Vine was selected for the United States Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition scheduled for April 9-10.

The competition is open to chefs under age 27 and focuses on emerging culinary talent.

Participants must prepare a multi-course meal within a set time using mystery ingredients.

Judges evaluate competitors on technique, organization, flavor, and presentation.

Clark will represent both her restaurant and the Finger Lakes region in the event.

Winners at the regional level advance to the national Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition.
