A 43-year-old woman was arrested Monday for stabbing two older women she lived with in Brooklyn, killing one and badly hurting the other, police said.
Oumou Bah is charged with murder, attempted murder and weapon possession for the 10:25 p.m. Saturday attack in the Ebbets Field Apartments complex in Crown Heights.
Neighbors in the Bedford Ave. building said they heard yells coming from the apartment the women all shared, with a man pounding on the door after getting locked out.
When police got there they found 74-year-old Hadiatou Bah stabbed in the head and arms and a 72-yer-old woman stabbed in the back and arm.
Medics rushed both victims to Kings County Hospital, where Hadiatou Bah died.
The other victim was in critical condition but has since stabilized, police said.
It wasn’t immediately clear Monday if the suspect is related to the victims.
Oumou Bah barricaded herself in the apartment after the clash but was taken into police custody a short time later.
She has no prior arrests, police said, and it’s not clear what sparked the clash.
“I did hear the shouting, the banging,” said Diana Harris, 43, who lives across the hall from the victims. “The walls were shaking because the guy, they locked him out so he was pounding on the door saying, ‘Let me in! Let me in!’ He was kicking the door. He was pounding on the door.”
Ring camera footage from down the hall captured several shouts of “Help!” and “Somebody, help!” The footage shows a person walking back and forth in the hallway before making a call to what appears to be a 911 dispatcher, describing, “We have a woman, that I think was stabbed, a knife, a scissors.”
