Repast Baroque (photo; left to right: Stephanie Corwin, baroque bassoon; Gabe Shuford, harpsichord; Sarah Abigael Stone, cello and viola da gamba; and Natalie Rose Kress, violin) will return to Brooklyn Heights this coming Saturday, March 28, for the third concert in their 2025-26 season, which has the theme “Literary Circles.” The subject of this concert is “Classics: King Arthur and Robin Hood.”
Profiling two English folk heroes, King Arthur and Robin Hood, Repast is joined by the chivalrous bass-baritone Paul Max Tipton. Legendary King Arthur and his circle of gallant knights hold court with Dibdin’s The institution of the Garter, or Arthur’s Round Tablerestored (1745) and Purcell’s King Arthur (1691). Robin Hood, a rebel hero of broadside ballads and Shield’s comic opera Robin Hood (1784), comes through as the people’s champion.
Also joining Repast for this concert are Adam Cockerham on theorbo and Shelby Yamin on violin.
The concert starts at 3:00 pm, at the McKinney Chapel of the First Unitarian Congregational Society, Brooklyn, 121 Pierrepont Street. You may buy tickets here.
