The New York Giants will watch four prospects come off the board in the 2026 NFL draft before they make their first selection at No. 5 overall.

That doesn’t change the fact that the Giants will have several highly regarded prospects available, no matter how the top four picks shake out among the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, and Tennessee Titans—the owners of selections No. 1 through 4, respectively.

Jordan Plocher of Pro Football Focus believes the Giants will select Miami right tackle Francis Mauigoa with the No. 5 overall pick on draft day.

Giving quarterback Jaxson Dart more time in the pocket, leading to fewer scrambles, will help keep him healthy and aid in his development. The 6-foot-5 and 329-pound Mauigoa is a heavy presence up front who will clear holes in the running game and help protect Dart.

Mauigoa allowed only two sacks, four quarterback hits and nine hurries on his 557 pass-blocking snaps in 2025. He could be a nice addition to Dart’s array of personal protectors, and he’s open to playing guard or tackle.

Mauigoa allowed only 2.0 sacks in 2025. The 20-year-old also surrendered just 10 total pressures for the season.

Mauigoa’s mobility, quick feet, and situational awareness stood out last season. Based on his performance on the field in 2025, Mauigoa is a strong, highly regarded prospect the Giants should consider at No. 5 overall.
