An SUV tore through the entrance of a Cee & Cee department store on Soundview Avenue.

The FDNY says that two people were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.

The crash happened when the store was still closed, just before 9 a.m.

Fire officials say that the building is “structurally sound.”

Witnesses, still shocked, told News 12 that they saw the car “flying into the store.”

One onlooker, Lisa S., says, “I was in shock. I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

“Something like that happening is scary. Anybody could get hurt,” Cathy Acevedo said. “She went straight in.”

News 12 was also on scene back in 2012 when a car crashed into the same storefront.

Today, officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Meanwhile, neighbors say they’re grateful the store was closed and that the outcome wasn’t worse.
