The New York Jets are searching for any sign of life as they look to avoid an 0-8 start heading into their bye week.
Their challenge: a Cincinnati Bengals squad coming off a statement win against the Pittsburgh Steelers under the primetime lights.
For first-year head coach Aaron Glenn, Sunday marks another chance to notch his first victory and halt what’s become a nightmarish skid.
Here is a look at the Jets’ inactive players for this afternoon.
Jets Inactive List vs. Bengals
QB Tyrod Taylor
WR Josh Reynolds
WR Garrett Wilson
DL Jay Tufele
TE Stone Smartt
RB/ST Kene Nwangwu
LB/ST Cam Jones
CB Sauce Gardner
LB Kobe King
The New York Jets will be without seven players Sunday because of injuries, their highest total of the season.
Quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who was “trending toward” starting under center, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, did not travel with the team to Cincinnati because of a knee injury.
Wide receiver Garrett Wilson will miss his second straight game with a knee injury, while fellow wideout Josh Reynolds was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring issue. The absences leave New York’s receiving corps thin and searching for answers.
Linebacker Cam Jones also landed on injured reserve this week due to a hip injury.
Running back Kene Nwangwu and cornerback Sauce Gardner remain sidelined after suffering concussions in last week’s loss to the Carolina Panthers. Defensive lineman Jay Tufele is out with a knee injury, while linebacker Kobe King, whom the Jets claimed off waivers on Friday, is a healthy scratch.
