The Historic Ship Lantern Inn in Milton, NY In Business for Over 100 Years

The Hudson Valley is home to many restaurants and in recent years has become a top destination for “foodies.”

If you ask a local about some of the best restaurants in the area, there’s no doubt about it, Ship Lantern Inn will be on that list.

The Ship Lantern Inn has been a family owned and operated in Milton since its opening back in 1925, according to their website. They describe the Milton restaurant as a fine dining establishment “serving Contemporary American Continental Cuisine in an intimate atmosphere.”

The restaurant is located in a building that dates back to the Revolutionary War, needless to say The Ship Lantern Inn has deep roots within the Hudson Valley community.

With that being said, it looks like The Ship Lantern Inn will close… but not for long.

Popular Milton, New York Restaurant Closing…Temporarily

The Ship Lantern Inn took to social media to announce that they will be closed.

Thankfully, only temporarily.

In the statement owner Michael Foglia explained:

We are currently closed for Renovations, Maintenance, and reorganizing our upper Management Team!

Foglia went on to explain that he’s optimistic about The Ship Lantern Inn’s future as their 101 year legacy continues on. The Ship Lantern Inn is looking forward to welcoming guests back on  Tuesday March 31st, 2026.

In the statement Foglia adds:

 For those of you who find it necessary to idly gossip or share misinformation with others regarding our impending demise I hope you also come and visit us!

The Ship Lantern Inn is located 1725 Route 9W in Milton. At night, just look for the bright neon sign!

We mentioned before that Mike Foglia is the owner of The Ship Lantern Inn and that the business has been family owned since 1925.
