PARK SLOPE, NY — Sushi lovers have a new reason to head to Park Slope, where a fresh vegan spot is reimagining classic rolls with a plant-based twist.

Sitting right on the border of Park Slope and Prospect Heights, Tenon Vegan Sushi at 329 Flatbush Avenue dishes out an entirely plant-based menu of Japanese rolls and Thai bites.

But don’t expect just tofu and greens—its creative proteins mimic chicken, duck, and beef for a surprisingly hearty meal.

The Park Slope restaurant is Tenon’s first location in the U.S., expanding a longtime Canadian favorite south of the border.

The original Markham, Ontario, outpost has been serving customers for more than a decade and went fully meatless in 2011 when longtime vegetarians Tony Huang and Yan Chen took ownership, according to reports.

Instead of sticking to the usual avocado and cucumber combos, Tenon Vegan Sushi sets itself apart with inventive, flavor-packed rolls.

The Park Slope menu features everything from a Montreal Roll packed with soy crab, shrimp and vegan ham to a meatless spin on the Dynamite Roll, stuffed with vegan crab, crispy shrimp tempura and avocado. There’s even vegan spicy salmon and salmon-style sashimi for purists who still crave the classics.

In addition to its creative sushi rolls and Japanese-style bites like crispy wontons, edamame and seaweed salad, Tenon Vegan Sushi rounds out the menu with Thai favorites such as curries and fried rice.
