A 68-year-old woman was fatally struck by a hit-and-run SUV driver in Midtown Manhattan early Wednesday, police said.
The woman was struck on E. 57th St. at Second Ave. about 4:30 a.m., cops said.
First responders found her sprawled in a marked bike lane and rushed her to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell, where she died. Her name was not immediately released.
A police source said the victim may have been walking in the bike lane when she was struck at the corner.
The SUV driver sped off and has not been caught.
Cops were scouring the area for surveillance footage that could help them track down the driver.
